A Comprehensive Guide to HDPE Pipe Extrusion Lines

HDPE pipes are currently widely used in urban underground drainage and water supply. HDPE pipe extrusion line is used to continuously produce these pipes. HDPE granules material enter the screw barrel for melting and plasticization and are extruded into shape through pipe die molds.

What is HDPE Pipe Extrusion?

HDPE raw material particles are fed into the barrel of the extruder through a vacuum loader, and the raw materials are stirred with a single screw to reach a molten state for plasticization. During this process, a temperature control system is used to adjust the temperature. The plasticized raw materials are extruded into a rough shape through a pipe die mold, and then enter a vacuum cooling calibration tank to complete the final pipe shape. Then, through a traction machine, cut or wind according to a certain length, and finally packed into storage.

1. Extruder: Our core components (screw barrel, pipe mold, metal parts) are self-made. Our extruder screw barrel factory was established in 1978 and continuously develops and breaks through screw extrusion technology. The extruders all adopt PLC computer operation screen, all production line data is visually managed.


2. The mold is manufactured using advanced German spiral technology, and the main components are made of high-quality mold steel. The surface of the core rod of the mouth mold is polished, and a temperature sensor is installed inside the mold. The material is evenly distributed, with low shear heat, and the mouth mold is easy to adjust. It is suitable for matching different pressure levels of mouth molds and core molds.


3. Our standard vacuum calibration table has a length of 9 meters and is made of high-quality 304 stainless steel material. The newly optimized water pipeline design is energy-efficient and efficient.


4. The traction machine is equipped with servo frequency conversion, and the traction pressure and speed can be adjusted. It adopts an encoder length measuring device.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting of HDPE Pipe Production Lines

1. Ripples appear on the surface of the pipe


1)Insufficient cooling: increase the water intake of the fixed diameter sleeve or increase the spacing between the mouth mold and the fixed diameter sleeve.


2)Improper size of the sealing ring, causing vibration: vacuum box sealing ring size is too small, replace the seal circle or appropriately reduce the vacuum degree of the first vacuum box, and increase the vacuum degree of the second vacuum box.



2. There are pits on the inner surface


1)Impurities in raw materials: check the raw materials.


2)The inner wall between the mouth mold and the core mold is not cleaned thoroughly: cleaning the mouth mold and core mold.


3. Uneven surface of pipes


1)Wet raw materials: Drying of raw materials.


2)Uneven water volume in the fixed diameter sleeve: adjust the water volume in the fixed diameter sleeve or replace it.


4. The surface of the pipe is not shiny


Impurities on the fixed diameter sleeve, support plate, and sealing ring: Clean the fixed diameter sleeve, support plate, and sealing ring.
