1. Classification of PVC extruders
PVC extruder is divided into two types: hard and soft RPVC pipes, which are made by mixing the PVC resin with stabilizers, lubricants and other additives and by granulation and extruder molding, which can also be made by powder extrusion molding. RPVC pipe has good chemical corrosion resistance and insulation, mainly used to transport a variety of fluids and used as wire bushing. RPVC pipe is vulnerable to cut, welding, bonding, and can be bent after heating, so its installation and use are very convenient. SPVC pipe is made of PVC resin with a large amount of plasticizer and a certain amount of stabilizer and other additives after granulation and extrusion. SPVC pipe has excellent chemical stability, excellent electrical insulation and good flexibility and coloring. This pipe is often used to take the place of rubber pipe to transport liquids and corrosive media, also used as cable casing and wire insulation pipe, etc.
2. Application areas of the PVC extruder
For PVC resin, a variety of processing can be carried out with the extruder.
(1) General soft products
With pvc extruders, they can be extruded into cables, wires and hoses, etc.; the injection molding machine can be used together with various molds to make shoe soles, slippers, various plastic sandals, as well as toys and auto parts, etc.
(2) PVC film
After mixing and plasticizing PVC with additives, transparent or colored films of specified thickness can be made by using three-roller or four-roller calender, and calendered films can be processed by this method. It can also be used to make raincoats, tablecloths, curtains, packaging bags, inflatable toys, etc., after cutting and heat bonding processing. The wide transparent film can be used for greenhouse, plastic shed and floor film; the film stretched in both directions can be used for shrink packaging due to its characteristics of shrinkage by heat.
(3) PVC foam products
When mixing, add the right amount of foaming agent to turn soft PVC into sheets, which will become foam plastic through foaming molding. It can be used in sandals, insoles, foam slippers and shockproof buffer packaging and other materials. In addition, it can also be extruded into low-foaming hard PVC sheets and profiles by extruder, which is a new type of construction material and can be used instead of wood.
(4) PVC coated products
Artificial leather with backing is made by coating PVC paste on cloth or paper, and then plasticizing it above 100 degree Celsius (also PVC and additives can be calendered into film first, and then pressed together with backing); while artificial leather without backing is directly calendered into soft sheet with certain thickness by calendering machine, and then pressed with pattern. The artificial leather has a wide application. It can be used to make leather bags, leather boxes, book covers, sofas and car cushions, etc. It can also be made into flooring leather, which is used as flooring material for buildings.
(5) PVC paste resin
The PVC emulsion or micro-suspension resin is dispersed in liquid plasticizer to make it swell and plasticize into plasticized sol. Then add stabilizer, filler, coloring agent, etc. After full stirring for de-bubbling, PVC paste is prepared, and then processed into various products such as coat hangers, tool handles, Christmas trees, etc. by casting, dipping or laminating and other technologies.
(6) PVC transparent sheet
Impact modifier and organic tin stabilizer are added to PVC, which is mixed, plasticized and calendered into transparent sheet. Then it can be made into thin-walled transparent containers by thermoforming, and can be used for vacuum blister packaging, which is an excellent packaging material and decorative material.
(7) PVC rigid sheet and plate
After adding stabilizers, lubricants and fillers to PVC and mixing, PVC extruders can be used to extrude hard pipes of various calibers, shaped pipes, corrugated pipes and other products, which can be used as downpipes, drinking water pipes, electric wire sleeves or staircase handrails, etc.; after the overlapping hot pressing of the calendered sheets, they can be made into hard sheets of various thicknesses, which can be cut into various desired shapes and can be welded with hot air into various chemical resistant tanks, ducts and containers, etc., using PVC welding rods.
In other applications of PVC, it can be processed into rigid profiles using an extruder and used for window and door assembly. In some countries, PVC rigid profile assembled windows and doors have occupied the market of windows and doors together with wooden windows and doors, aluminum windows, etc.
